...my water broke, the baby was moving around quite a bit and we knew weren’t going to have any more children after this baby. I turned to my husband and said, “This will be the last time in my life I will ever be able to experience all of this!...the baby kicking, the nausea, the swelling, the watching him grow on the ultrasound!”. My husband looked at me like I had three eyes and probably thought, what is she thinking? saying? But it was the truth.
Yet with joyous anticipation of our baby, it was sad to think this will be the last time in my life I will every experience all these physical changes that are only unique to pregnancy. My advice; Savor and enjoy those moments as part of the amazing process!
If you are fortunate enough to give birth in your lifetime, you have been blessed with the richest gift to be given.
Ready for the most amazing hours of your Life?
No one can prepare you for the miracle that you experience when having a baby. As much as you read and watch videos of this amazing process of reproduction, the sensations of developing a human being within you and having the privilege of bringing him or her into the world is difficult to explain in words.
Yet, for those of us who have experienced the nausea for
weeks when you feel like your living on the Atlantic, swollen feet and hands
and the sharp charley horses at 2 am…I think most women conclude, “This isn’t
the cats meow and men get off easy!”
It certainly would have been difficult for someone to
convince me otherwise at those particular moments. Yet, these are truly minor
and wonderful occurrences that Mother Nature puts us through as we approach the
birthing delivery event and are are just part of the absolute joy in this amazing
and miraculous process.
While going through the journey of pregnancy, it has its odd
instinctive moments too.In
anticipation of a child, we seem to focus on making sure everything is
right.The term for this is,
“Nesting”. It seems the baby’s room becomes part of our obsession.Oddly, this instinct of making sure
everything is in its place and prepared for baby, becomes a specific vision
with a deadline.Even though we
know in reality things can be purchased after the baby arrives, we
instinctively want to make sure that we can bring our baby home with everything
perfect.
Prior to having my children, I always wondered….”what’s with
the deadline thing of having the baby room just so?I mean, what is the big deal if a few things here and there
come a bit after the baby arrives? So, you run to the store and get it, right?”
Clearly, I never had a child to ask these ridiculous
questions, because you will have little time for anyone or anything else except
100% baby when you get home from the hospital.
Well, I think this intuitive process goes well beyond what we
even realize.Because, when you
bring home your little bundle of joy, your world changes. There is little time for the final
design details when you have to make sure your bunny must eat every few hours
around the clock and be changed just as much if not more.Sounds easy, right? This has to be one of the most
exhaustive and rewarding jobs on planet earth.
So Mama Nature has got it right. Try and get your baby room
in order before the event.Your
instincts are right.Good Health
to you and enjoy every moment of the miracle you are experiencing!
